ngrep-1.38.tar.gz
Posted Jun 30, 2000
Authored by Jordan Ritter | Site ngrep.datasurge.net

ngrep is a powerful network sniffing tool which strives to provide most of GNU grep's common features, applying them to all network traffic. ngrep is a pcap-aware tool that will allow you to specify extended regular expressions to match against data payloads of packets. It currently recognizes TCP, UDP and ICMP across Ethernet, PPP, SLIP and null interfaces, and understands bpf filter logic in the same fashion as more common packet sniffing tools, such as tcpdump and snoop.

Changes: Windows support, replay packets at their recorded time intervals, dumps to pcap compatible capture files, matches binary strings too, and now 64 bit clean. Linux binary here.

NU-Nomad is a network mapping program designed to automatically discover a local network, using SNMP to identify network devices and work out how they are physically connected together. The network is then presented as a topology diagram.

Changes: Fixed bugs that caused crashes, started on a network inventory database, and a few minor GUI improvements.

IPTraf is a console-based network statistics utility for Linux. It gathers a variety of figures such as TCP connection packet and byte counts, interface statistics and activity indicators, TCP/UDP traffic breakdowns, and LAN station packet and byte counts.

Changes: This release fixes a failure to recognize FDDI interfaces, and some screen damage at the TCP or UDP filter editors.
