DESCRIPTION:
A vulnerability has been reported in Puppet, which can be exploited
by malicious users to compromise a vulnerable system.
The vulnerability is caused due to an input sanitation error when
handling X.509 certificate signing requests, which can be exploited
to write arbitrary data to arbitrary files with the privileges of the
Puppet Master application via directory traversal attacks.
SOLUTION:
Apply hotfixes for Puppet Enterprise versions 1.0, 1.1, and 1.2.x or
update to Puppet versions 2.6.10 or 2.7.4.
