DESCRIPTION:
sullo has discovered a vulnerability in Alkalay man-cgi, which can be
exploited by malicious people to compromise a vulnerable system.
Input passed to the "topic" parameter in "man-cgi.cgi" isn't properly
sanitised before being used in an "exec()" call. This can be exploited
to inject and execute arbitrary shell commands via the "|" pipe
character.
The vulnerability has been confirmed in the latest available version.
Other versions may also be affected.
SOLUTION:
Edit the source code to ensure that input is properly sanitised.
