DESCRIPTION:
A vulnerability has been reported in Sophos Anti-Virus, which can be
exploited by malicious people to cause a DoS (Denial of Service).

The vulnerability is caused due to an error in a third party
component (TAO) within the Remote Management System (RMS). This can
be exploited to cause the RMS router to restart by sending a
malformed, large GIOP message to an affected system.

NOTE: A manual restart is required if no service management is used.

SOLUTION:
Update to RMS 3.0.9 or later.

The update has also been issued automatically to customers using EM
Library via the following releases:
* Sophos Anti-Virus for Windows 2000/XP/2003/Vista 7.6.0
* Sophos Anti-Virus for Windows 95/98/NT 4.7.16
* Sophos Anti-Virus for Mac OSX 4.9.15
* Sophos Anti-Virus for Linux 6.4.4
