TITLE:
Novell NetStorage Multiple Vulnerabilities

SECUNIA ADVISORY ID:
SA34769

VERIFY ADVISORY:
https://secunia.com/advisories/34769/

DESCRIPTION:
Some vulnerabilities have been reported in Novell NetStorage, which
can be exploited by malicious people to conduct cross-site scripting
attacks, and by malicious users to disclose system information or
cause a DoS (Denial of Service).

1) Input passed via the "filter" field is not properly sanitised
before being returned to the user. This can be exploited to execute
arbitrary HTML and script code in a user's browser session in context
of an affected site.

2) An error in the implementation of the mail option can be exploited
to disclose the full path of the NetStorage installation.

3) An error in the implementation of the "NFS Info" and "Netware
Info" options can be exploited to cause an abnormal termination and
hang the server.

The vulnerabilities are reported in version 3.1.5-19. Other versions
may also be affected.

SOLUTION:
Filter malicious characters and character sequences in a web proxy.

Restrict access to trusted users only.
