Google Chrome prior to 55.0.2883.75 for Mac, Windows and Linux, and 55.0.2883.84 for Android insufficiently sanitized DevTools URLs, which allowed a remote attacker to read local files via a crafted HTML page.

Ubuntu Security Notice 3153-1 - Multiple vulnerabilities were discovered in Chromium. If a user were tricked in to opening a specially crafted website, an attacker could potentially exploit these to conduct cross-site scripting attacks, read uninitialized memory, obtain sensitive information, spoof the webview URL, bypass same origin restrictions, cause a denial of service via application crash, or execute arbitrary code. Various other issues were also addressed.

Red Hat Security Advisory 2016-2919-01 - Chromium is an open-source web browser, powered by WebKit. This update upgrades Chromium to version 55.0.2883.75. Security Fix: Multiple flaws were found in the processing of malformed web content. A web page containing malicious content could cause Chromium to crash, execute arbitrary code, or disclose sensitive information when visited by the victim.
