Cisco IKE Information Disclosure
Posted Aug 31, 2024
Authored by Jay Turla | Site metasploit.com

A vulnerability in Internet Key Exchange version 1 (IKEv1) packet processing code in Cisco IOS, Cisco IOS XE, and Cisco IOS XR Software could allow an unauthenticated, remote attacker to retrieve memory contents, which could lead to the disclosure of confidential information. The vulnerability is due to insufficient condition checks in the part of the code that handles IKEv1 security negotiation requests. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by sending a crafted IKEv1 packet to an affected device configured to accept IKEv1 security negotiation requests. A successful exploit could allow the attacker to retrieve memory contents, which could lead to the disclosure of confidential information.

Posted Aug 31, 2024
Authored by sfewer-r7 | Site metasploit.com

This Metasploit module leverages both CVE-2023-20198 and CVE-2023-20273 against vulnerable instances of Cisco IOS XE devices which have the Web UI exposed. An attacker can execute arbitrary OS commands with root privileges. This Metasploit module leverages CVE-2023-20198 to create a new admin user, then authenticating as this user, CVE-2023-20273 is leveraged for OS command injection. The output of the command is written to a file and read back via the webserver. Finally the output file is deleted and the admin user is removed. The vulnerable IOS XE versions are: 16.1.1, 16.1.2, 16.1.3, 16.2.1, 16.2.2, 16.3.1, 16.3.2, 16.3.3, 16.3.1a, 16.3.4, 16.3.5, 16.3.5b, 16.3.6, 16.3.7, 16.3.8, 16.3.9, 16.3.10, 16.3.11, 16.4.1, 16.4.2, 16.4.3, 16.5.1, 16.5.1a, 16.5.1b, 16.5.2, 16.5.3, 16.6.1, 16.6.2, 16.6.3, 16.6.4, 16.6.5, 16.6.4s, 16.6.4a, 16.6.5a, 16.6.6, 16.6.5b, 16.6.7, 16.6.7a, 16.6.8, 16.6.9, 16.6.10, 16.7.1, 16.7.1a, 16.7.1b, 16.7.2, 16.7.3, 16.7.4, 16.8.1, 16.8.1a, 16.8.1b, 16.8.1s, 16.8.1c, 16.8.1d, 16.8.2, 16.8.1e, 16.8.3, 16.9.1, 16.9.2, 16.9.1a, 16.9.1b, 16.9.1s, 16.9.1c, 16.9.1d, 16.9.3, 16.9.2a, 16.9.2s, 16.9.3h, 16.9.4, 16.9.3s, 16.9.3a, 16.9.4c, 16.9.5, 16.9.5f, 16.9.6, 16.9.7, 16.9.8, 16.9.8a, 16.9.8b, 16.9.8c, 16.10.1, 16.10.1a, 16.10.1b, 16.10.1s, 16.10.1c, 16.10.1e, 16.10.1d, 16.10.2, 16.10.1f, 16.10.1g, 16.10.3, 16.11.1, 16.11.1a, 16.11.1b, 16.11.2, 16.11.1s, 16.11.1c, 16.12.1, 16.12.1s, 16.12.1a, 16.12.1c, 16.12.1w, 16.12.2, 16.12.1y, 16.12.2a, 16.12.3, 16.12.8, 16.12.2s, 16.12.1x, 16.12.1t, 16.12.2t, 16.12.4, 16.12.3s, 16.12.1z, 16.12.3a, 16.12.4a, 16.12.5, 16.12.6, 16.12.1z1, 16.12.5a, 16.12.5b, 16.12.1z2, 16.12.6a, 16.12.7, 16.12.9, 16.12.10, 17.1.1, 17.1.1a, 17.1.1s, 17.1.2, 17.1.1t, 17.1.3, 17.2.1, 17.2.1r, 17.2.1a, 17.2.1v, 17.2.2, 17.2.3, 17.3.1, 17.3.2, 17.3.3, 17.3.1a, 17.3.1w, 17.3.2a, 17.3.1x, 17.3.1z, 17.3.3a, 17.3.4, 17.3.5, 17.3.4a, 17.3.6, 17.3.4b, 17.3.4c, 17.3.5a, 17.3.5b, 17.3.7, 17.3.8, 17.4.1, 17.4.2, 17.4.1a, 17.4.1b, 17.4.1c, 17.4.2a, 17.5.1, 17.5.1a, 17.5.1b, 17.5.1c, 17.6.1, 17.6.2, 17.6.1w, 17.6.1a, 17.6.1x, 17.6.3, 17.6.1y, 17.6.1z, 17.6.3a, 17.6.4, 17.6.1z1, 17.6.5, 17.6.6, 17.7.1, 17.7.1a, 17.7.1b, 17.7.2, 17.10.1, 17.10.1a, 17.10.1b, 17.8.1, 17.8.1a, 17.9.1, 17.9.1w, 17.9.2, 17.9.1a, 17.9.1x, 17.9.1y, 17.9.3, 17.9.2a, 17.9.1x1, 17.9.3a, 17.9.4, 17.9.1y1, 17.11.1, 17.11.1a, 17.12.1, 17.12.1a, 17.11.99SW.

Generates a .webarchive file for Mac OS X Safari that will attempt to inject cross-domain Javascript (UXSS), silently install a browser extension, collect user information, steal the cookie database, and steal arbitrary local files. When opened on the target machine the webarchive file must not have the quarantine attribute set, as this forces the webarchive to execute in a sandbox.

Ubuntu Security Notice 4954-1 - Jason Royes and Samuel Dytrych discovered that the memcpy implementation for 32 bit ARM processors in the GNU C Library contained an integer underflow vulnerability. An attacker could possibly use this to cause a denial of service or execute arbitrary code. It was discovered that the POSIX regex implementation in the GNU C Library did not properly parse alternatives. An attacker could use this to cause a denial of service. Various other issues were also addressed.

Nagios XI 5.7.3 Remote Code Execution
Posted Apr 21, 2021
Authored by Chris Lyne, Erik Wynter | Site metasploit.com

This Metasploit module exploits an OS command injection vulnerability in includes/components/nxti/index.php that enables an authenticated user with admin privileges to achieve remote code execution as the apache user. Valid credentials for a Nagios XI admin user are required. This module has been successfully tested against Nagios XI 5.7.3 running on CentOS 7.

Nagios XI Remote Code Execution
Posted Apr 15, 2021
Authored by Haboob Team, Erik Wynter | Site metasploit.com

This Metasploit module exploits a command injection vulnerability in the /admin/monitoringplugins.php page of Nagios XI versions prior to 5.8.0 when uploading plugins. Successful exploitation allows an authenticated admin user to achieve remote code execution as the apache user by uploading a malicious plugin. Valid credentials for a Nagios XI admin user are required. This module has been successfully tested against Nagios versions XI 5.3.0 and 5.7.5, both running on CentOS 7.

Nagios XI getprofile.sh Remote Command Execution
Posted Apr 14, 2021
Authored by Erik Wynter, Jak Gibb | Site metasploit.com

This Metasploit module exploits a vulnerability in the getprofile.sh script of Nagios XI versions prior to 5.6.6 in order to upload a malicious check_ping plugin and thereby execute arbitrary commands. For Nagios XI 5.2.0 through 5.4.13, the commands are run as the nagios user. For versions 5.5.0 through 5.6.5, the commands are run as root. Note that versions prior to 5.2.0 will still be marked as being vulnerable however this module does not presently support exploiting these targets. The module uploads a malicious check_ping plugin to the Nagios XI server via /admin/monitoringplugins.php and then executes this plugin by issuing a HTTP GET request to download a system profile from the server. For all supported targets except Linux (cmd), the module uses a command stager to write the exploit to the target via the malicious plugin. This may not work if Nagios XI is running in a restricted Unix environment, so in that case the target must be set to Linux (cmd). The module then writes the payload to the malicious plugin while avoiding commands that may not be supported. Valid credentials for a user with administrative privileges are required. This module was successfully tested on Nagios XI 5.3.0 and Nagios 5.6.5, both running on CentOS 7. For vulnerable versions before 5.5.0, it may take a significant amount of time for the payload to get back (up to 5 minutes). If exploitation fails against an older system, it is recommended to increase the WfsDelay setting (default is 300 seconds).
